The Final Jump
I bent my legs, closed my eyes, and jumped into the deep green sea as the bell on the ferry rang, signaling its soon departure. I did all I could in those last remaining minutes; I jumped in the water for the last time that summer. That one last jump signaled the ending chapter of my summer; it was the snapshot that captured my memories and adventures. In five minutes, I would get on a ferry back home and start school in a few days. My hair would lose its blond highlights, my skin would lose its golden glow, and my freckles would fade. Splash. As my body fell into the cold refreshing water, a cold chill went up my back. The moment didn’t last long because before I knew it, the final bell for the ferry rang. I climbed up the ladder, put on my sunglasses, and waved goodbye to summer.
