Keeping the Bad Away
I wish that one day
My ink would swallow me up,
Consuming me like fire
Until I am nothing more than ashes
Coated in words and
Poetry.
Because my words are the only things
Strong enough to keep the bad away
And even now I feel it
Breathing close,
Never far away.
It scares me sometimes,
These dark thoughts that come out of my head
And I keep the smile
Glued in place
Like a dummy
Because I know that
If people saw my soul
They would be frightened.
And...
So would I.
