Whenever He Would Laugh
His cheeks would get red
And his eyes would water
Blinking quickly
Whenever he would laugh
His mouth would hang open
And chuckled would come out
Louder than most people’s
Whenever he would laugh
His mouth is now shut
And his eyes are now dry
His cheeks are now pale
His chuckles now gone
Whenever he would laugh
The word “would”
That’s the key
He is not laughing anymore
But eternally silent
I’ll miss him laughing
Most of all
And his open mouth
And watering eyes
And red cheeks
And loud chuckles
