Me and Thee
Woe is me
Death is my friend
Bohemia in her healing rags
is our all-powerful mother
She sings
Of thy freezing core
Of thy watery depth
of my sufferings at their end
Wind like a whip
slaps thy ever-moving face
brings my arms out like wings
and prepares to throw off their cross
I fling it of my shoulders
onto the cold pavement of day
I surrender myself to thee
Keep me in thy swirling arms of black
To a deep sleep in thy arms
I go, sung away by no one
My elusive friend takes my hand
And me, thou, and everything art no more
