they sit on the bookshelf, just gathering dust
and when you look at them you feel that you must
open them up and read what's inside
the stories of villains who did horrible things
and tales of heroic knights and kings

they sit on the bookshelf, just gathering dust
inside, they tell stories of hatred and lust
some of them old and some of them new
some of them will give you a clue
to solve a great mystery
or to teach you the history
of times long long ago
