As Long as I'm Me
SOCIETY--
Brush on the blush
To hide your face
It's pale and ugly
And out of place
Slip on the skinnies
They are the jeans
Everyone wears
(Or so it seems)
If of others you care
You gotta pop
If you wanna shine
You gotta stand out
So get in line
You can still be yourself
Just don't show everyone
What you think, how you look
If you want to be loved
ME--
Don't need to wear blush
I like my face
It's pale, but pretty
And I think it's great
I'll wear what I like
Yes, some days I wear jeans
And some days I wear skirts
But I gotta be me
'Cause if I'm gonna pop
And if I want to shine
If I want to stand out
My choices must be mine
That way I am myself
I don't care if they see
Knows how I think, how I look
Just as long as I'm me
