The world is changing, I can feel it.

I can see the transformation that affects me.

Sometimes I feel stronger and joyful,

Yet others I become confused,

Trapped in a foreign world.


Why do I feel this way?

I thought I would become better,

But keep the things that I want;

So then,

Why are the things that I care for the most,

Slipping through my fingers?


I have been chased into a chrysalis,

But what will I be when I come out?

Will I be one that others look up to?

Or,

Will I be a monster that has lost everything?


How do I pick up the threads that I’ve lost,

Or bind that things I cherish?

For the things that change the innocent caterpillar are strange.

Where will the metamorphoses take me?

How will I change?


Well . . . I guess,

All I can do is trust in the Lord,

For he will lead me on the right path.

So the question is,

Who will I become?
