Autophobia
Sitting in her lawn chair
Pen and paper her only friends
No one is allowed near her
For she can’t let them see her fear
She refuses to get close
she shares her secrets with her notebook
Playing games only with her own heart
She dances to her own music
And is only herself when she’s alone
Everyone stays at arm distance
For that’s where she wants them to be
Getting too close would make her vulnerable
Her naked flesh visible for them to see
She’s never been scared of spiders
Nor of monsters in her closet
Her only fear is of being left
Left with only her notebook
Full with secrets with no one to tell

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.
