Half-way Empty
Look me in the eye,
Or please don't look at all,
I deserve more than half a second,
Before your green eyes fall.
Your sometimes there,
Just half-way there.
You show fullness to others,
But that's not fair.
I lie and say that I do not care,
But in reality, I do.
Ignore me if you wish,
But don't just leave me there alone,
At least nod, "hi" or something of the sort,
For all the respect I've shown.
Your sometimes there,
Just half-way there,
You show fullness to others,
But that's not fair.
I lie and say that I do not care,
But in reality, I do.
The glass is half-way empty,
Or is it half-way full?
Is the pencil usable,
Or unbearably dull?
Your sometimes there,
Just halfway there,
You show fullness to others,
But that's not fair.
I lie and say that I do not care,
But in reality, I do.
Would you rather be nothing,
Than be my best friend again?
We have a strong connection,
Please don't let it bend.
I want you there,
Completely there,
Show fullness to all,
And make it fair!
I lie to myself but do I care?
Yes, I do.
