Time Does Not Heal All Wounds
I would like to say it didn’t hurt,
Those words you said to me…
That I do not want to go in some lonely corner
And cry because I feel so inadequate…
This pain should not be so sharp,
So utterly demoralizing…
It is so hard to accept the hurt
And put on a happy face
So that all those oblivious will remain so…
He captivates my daydreams,
His voice lifts me from
The dreary depths of my depression…
But he does not feel the same.
This mask can only do so much…
I wish I could believe
That time can heal all wounds,
But my dismal history is a constant reminder
Of all the agony I keep suppressed.
