The Art of Blue Eyes.
I knew a beautiful girl once who sang with her fingertips ,
who weaved life from words.
who from beneath the pen gave into her weakness, her humanity
i knew a beautiful girl once who wasn't within perfections light
who would rather saunter and confess to the dark
who walks in her clothes above this plastic world, but never steps beyond the cloudy gates
afraid of comformity, afraid of what power she held
who weilds denial from the sheild, always afraid
inventor of lies, preacher of sins
who looks from the window, the invisble bars that hold her within
afraid to taste what's beyond the window, afraid to stay in.
breaking barriers, defying gravity, this is what she needs
i knew a beautiful girl once who didn't know life drops in
who didn't know death times us like a wheeling clock
sagging our skin, taking our kin, entering without a knock
i knew a beautiful girl once who wanted love so much her stomach was in knots
who didn't know love comes from like, that like comes from
rejection. spreading through your arteries, trying to seep in.
that without one you couldn't have the other.
and i told her this: tell him before death uses you up.
