The Sea beckons and calls.
The call of the Sea
Is not a summons that can be ignored.
For it pulls unceasing at the
Heart, until it seems it seems
As if it shall leap out.

The receding tide pulls my soul
Into the vast plains of Water.

The unending waves carry me to foreign ports
and exotic lands.
Where adventure waits at the doorstep.

My entire self yearns for the
Wind singing in the rigging.
It longs for the creak of the timber,
The slap of water on wood.

The Sea calls me.
It calls me to adventure,
Tranquility,
Peace,
And,
Solitude.

The sea beckons the bold and the brave,
To try their fortunes against the
Ageless and powerful
Waters of the Deep.
The waters that floated Noah,
The waters that spread for Moses.

The sea dares mankind to try to conquer it.
The sea laughs at man's efforts.
The sea rolls on,
Never-ending,
Never failing,
Wild,
Uncontrollable,
The Sea.

I wrote this when my Dad was looking at cruises. I couldn't help it, I had to write it and it just flowed out.
