The Fog Never Lifts on the Highway.
We drive down the middle lane,
at 75. If the windows were open it would be cold.
The fog would seep in,
creeping through the leather seats.
We're driving on the left,
at 85. And I can't see the road.
We open the windows, I put on my jacket.
The fog hides my hands, my hair is damp.
The fog still doesn't lift. We keep driving,
driving, driving.
We close the windows, I can see my hands again.
We're on the right now,
at 45. We head for exit 18.
It seems as if the fog is lifting.
