Being Me.
Hazel is not for me.
Brown would not do nicely.
Blues, greens, yellows, posess my eyes.
A beautiful burst of color.
So they say.
I try not to think about others thoughts.
I try not to think about what others have bought.
I go through life, trying to hold back my jealousies,
my envies, my wants
I have looked in the mirror,
and never been happy with what I have seen
Why look if I will only be disappointed?
I have turned away, I will not be controlled by the perils of this world.
I am me, freckle-plagued, crazy, fun-loving me,
and I am happy.
