The Bench
Sitting on a bench
In front of a vending machine
Walked on by
Was a girl whose eyes so green
I took a look away
My face unseen
When she tapped me on the shoulder
And said we hadn't talked in awhile
Well we were only gettin' older
And here we were in this deserted aisle
Age thirteen
In front of this vending machine
My love had become remiss
I said yeah, paused, and offered a hi
That's when she smiled and gave me a kiss
Everything turned to black
And turned from bliss
No bench
No vending machine
I woke up and it was only a dream.
