Welcome To Therapy
Doors shut in my face,
inches away from the slope of my nose.
“All you want in a hug,
instead you get therapy...”
How true those words,
spoken and broken.
Heart shattered,
bleeding on the carpet.
“Shut your mouth,
listen closely,”
hands on my arms,
purple blossoming under my skin.
I am sure,
good sir.
You are making a mistake.
Once upon a time,
face pressed against wood,
I was lost.
Searching for regret in the words that taught me,
the people who shocked me.
Now,
I stand in front of a doorway,
Hello there, Mr. Smith.
Welcome to therapy.
