One Girl
One day at school
was all it took.
One more of that dirty look.
One friend to stand up for her
was all she needed.
One brave soul to fight
as she slowly pleaded.
One wrong decision slowly led to the next.
One girl who deserved nothing but the best.
One day she went home
as upset as could be.
One more person just like me.
I understood her every feeling.
No one ever noticed her slowly fading.
They would whisper then laugh.
She never knew why.
One more day at school
for that poor, helpless girl.
