Till Death do Us Apart
"I do"
the words come easy
the tears even more so
the bells ring
in the background
and the white doves fly away
our friend and family
sorround us with open arms
a sea of smiling face
hand out hugs and good wishes
the tall, vanilla cake is cut
and a dozen camreas flash
i dance with my family
and toast with my friends
yet all i see is you
"I do"
The words echo loudly
like a distant dream
the small newborn cries
and waves two tiny fists
the innocent wide eyes
searcht the room for
a light blue pacifier
the light music of the mobile
plays as the baby sleeps
a new unforgettable face
yet all i see is you
"I do"
the memory is lightly faded
though the words remain fresh
the sound of wedding bells
ring loudly once again
as the vows are exchanged
the father-daughter dance
you smile, a proud parent
and raise your glass
to make a tearfull toast,
wave as the car drives away
the bouqet is thrown
and eager hands reach up
yet all i see is you
"i do"
These small words
hold great meaning
i haven't forgotten
the way they were said
the race of my heart
the look in your eyes
or the thin whit veil
i will continue to remember
even as i wear all black
i remeber the vows were
a promise was made
i see only you
till death do us apart.
