Fragments
The words jumped from my mouth before I had the chance to call them back,
I felt their presence in the air around me,
Their tone was piercing; fiery hot, yet chilling cold,
They enveloped my thoughts, becoming controlling,
The crystal glass shot from her fingertips,
I saw it fall in slow motion, anticipating the damage,
The vision was blurry, as an ancient TV screen would be,
It shattered,
Shards flew through the words I had so efficiently used for her pain,
They attacked both her and I,
Each sharp edge possessed a meaning, a letter,
They stabbed at our hearts,
I bled,
Tears and blood secreted simultaneously,
Until I couldn’t distinguish between the two,
As much as we tried to stem the flow,
The torture would never stop
