Junior Lifeguards

I wake up. It’s 7 a.m.
Getting reading for a new day
Knowing lifeguard training is on the way
I run down the beach to join the group
We begin stretching and wondering what we are going to do today
Knowing lifeguard training is on the way
We split up into groups and dart down the beach
We grab buoys and practice rescues
And safety maneuvers
At 9 a.m. it is over
We yell, “Cool group! You know!”
The instructors say, “See you on Wednesday!”
Knowing more lifeguard training is on the way
