You're Dead
You’re dead
I never really knew you
You went to my elementary school
But you were a year older than me
So I never really talked to you
I don’t think you had many friends
Maybe that’s part of it
But you were in eighth grade
You were only a year older than me
I saw you yesterday
You were laughing with a friend
You seemed happy
But I guess you weren’t very happy
Because you took your own life
And I guess I know why
I could tell you felt alone in the world
Using past tense feels so strange
I don’t know why
But it hurts me
And I’m sorry
