THE UNACCEPTED TRUTH LIES
In the cracked cement,
over-grown weeds,
and needles in the bathrooms-
Harlem.
In the gates of the mansions,
gold filling jewelry boxes,
and behind the wheels of Lamborghinis-
Hollywood.
Here lies the distorted sickening reality.
Yet ignorance is bliss?
How can people be so
Insensitive to the world around them?
Parent's hidden prejudices,
Reflect slowly onto their children:
“Don't look people in the eye
In that neighborhood.”
“That woman is creepy”
“They must be on drugs”
“I just have a bad feeling about them”
Fury in my eyes
When people resort to stereotypes
Cruelty unleashed.
In the beautiful graffiti
Talented dancers
And all-star athletes
Beauty of the streets
In the white collar crime
Scandalous affairs
And artificial friends
Flaws of the wealthy
Oblivion
Poisons the minds
Of those uneducated.
