In A Golden Locket
A broken heart spills out in a million pieces
floating,
falling,
into a golden locket.
Quick, snap it shut.
Inside the pieces flutter about,
resisting to find each other.
Each piece claims a different emotion, feeling, and dream.
Loneliness sits in the corner,
avoiding each pieces path.
Consumed in darkness, and its own torrent of tears.
Hurt and Pain have partnered together in a race to forget the past.
They load on the work, strain, and desire to do it all.
An effort to cover grief with duty;
A shameful attempt to hide it's soul.
But then,
Hope lies still and silent in the middle,
calling up to all pieces.
Wishing, and praying for the day to come,
When all pieces would fit together
to be whole,
And one day, Love again.
