Peace
PEACE
What is Peace?
Please tell what is Peace?
I’ve heard it used by the grown-ups many times,
but have no idea what it means.
Can you help me?
You’ve told me to look in books.
But I can’t find it anywhere.
Can you, please, explain?
Oh, I see. You don’t know what is Peace is either.
So you do know. You say it’s hard to explain.
It can’t be that hard.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
We go down to the safe house.
As I go in, I hear gunshots, people yelling, and crying in pain.
It’s been 3 hrs.
We don’t talk.
It’s best not, too. We were told.
I ponder about Peace.
I cannot let it go.
I want to know. I have to know.
I maybe a child, but- the green light suddenly go off.
We go back upstairs.
We watch our steps.
Broken glass and shell casings are strewn across the floor.
I see a gun lying next to a separated arm.
Blood is splattered on the wall.
We go to the other room.
You call the cleaners.
I’m looking out from the window.
The sun’s glare is too strong.
The air is filled with dust.
Was there a world before, unlike this?
