My World, Words
You want to know about my oddities?
You seem to care about why I spend my time in distant realities.
My nose buried in a book, you tear it away
You ask me why I live this way.
I’ll tell you…
It’s easier to care about someone who isn’t there,
Someone that doesn’t exist
If they can never touch me, they can never hurt me
If they can never know me, they’ll never desert me
It’s easier to care about someone else’s war,
In this story, evil prevails
In this story, the righteous always fail
But in the world of ink and paper,
The hero always saves the day
In my daydreams, ink and paper,
Always saves my day
You can’t be betrayed by fiction!
You can’t get a broken heart from make believe
The truth is always stranger then fiction
And I can’t find the truth
But books
Always save my day
Yes, a world of words
Shields my heart from
A world of actions
