Come back home
Across the seven seas
In the toy market,
Get me an adorable doll.
Even if you don’t bring the doll,
Please, Pappa, just return home.
Ever since you’ve left our homeland,
I’ve been distressed.
My heart mourns for you.
This house is also lonely too
And we all yearn for you.
The moon and stars have become friends,
The walls and doors too,
And they all ask me,
“When will your woe go?
When will your father return home?”
Mamma has creased berceuse,
Now I can’t calm my sleep.
My toys and games have been busted.
My close friends have been lost.
I don’t have a single penny,
And it’s almost Christmas day.
Don’t let our wishes exhaust.
Return to your household,
And never leave us again, Pappa
Why is there so much separation?
What is your compulsion?
You are not that innocent,
Neither are you unknown to this:
You are my ambition
Of this bulky creepy world.
You are the only one that I can call my own.
The whole universe is deserted, Pappa.
Forget the doll,
Just come back home.
Many dolls will come and go,
But my Pappa will stay.
