They tore us apart.
Mom always told us
“Love your father as well.”
But her mind whispers
“Love me more.”
Dad always proclaimed
“She betrayed me.”
But his thoughts murmured
I seek revenge.
He and I tried neutrality,
but to no avail.
My older brother,
my hero,
despised me for so, so long.
The little ones may have to choose one day as well.
Or it will be chosen for them.
