These Words
I feel it burning
In my mind
It’s screaming
For a way out
I am too ashamed
Too scared
To say a word
What will they say to me
How will they handle it
All I want
Is for them
To understand me
They need to know
That they were not
The cause of this
It just happened
I really want to tell them
They need to know
But the words
Won’t come out
As much as they want to
I can’t let them exit
From my mouth
I know that these words
Will haunt me
Everyday
They may even bring
Tears to my eyes
But nobody wants
To hear the word…
Depression
