My Sunrise
As I watched the sun rise over the horizon,
I couldn’t help but think of you.
Its beauty was breath taking,
I felt the way I felt when we first met,
The beauty of your soul caught me off guard,
Who knew angels existed on earth?
Like this very sunrise,
You brought light when my life was at its darkest.
As I watch the sun set now,
I know darkness will take over soon.
And I pray,
I hope,
I beg of you darling,
Don’t be another setting sun.
Your light gives me the strength I need,
Your words give me hope,
Your laugh is the sweetest melody,
I need you to be my sunrise,
Now and forever,
Please don’t say goodnight?
