The light most would call reality
I stared into your eyes
But there was nothing to see
Of course the emptiness of your eyes
Matched that of your cold empty heart
I remember a time long ago
When those eyes were filled with emotion
Even more than that though
They were filled with love and sincerity
Was it all just an illusion?
One only seen by the love blind
Or did I only see what I wanted to see
One will never know I guess
It was all such a lovely dream
But you can only lie adrift so long
Guess I finally woke up to the blinding light
The light most call reality
