Still Hear Him Say
I remember it clearly that dreadful day
When my beloved father past away
Yes I was young and didn’t understand
But that doesn’t change the Logan blood band
One day I will see him, I know in my heart
And when I look in the mirror I see him a lot
His eyes guide my steps and the paths I take
His heart interprets the decisions I make
And in my head I can still hear him say,
“Cheer up baby girl, your dad is okay,
September 11th wasn’t such a bad day,
Don’t let your sorrow tell you a lie,
The day I died was a blessing in disguise
I don’t hurt anymore or feel the pain,
I can do anything with no worry of rain
I know it’s hard for you to perceive
That it was a blessing when God told me to leave
But one day you will see Heaven and finally understand
The life on Earth is no promise land
But until then keep striving for you’re Momma and me
We are so proud of the girl you are turning out to be.”
