Song for a Sunrise

The morning sun

sprays rays,

in the blue room sky,

shining and smiling,

a joy to my eyes.

Clouds float

like debris

in the oceanic sky,

as light bleeds

through trees

of the branch’s open eyes.

Bluebirds sing

their morning melodies,

as winds hiss and cry,

gratitude fills the air,

for a new sunrise.

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece as a way to really just appreciate the beauty of a sunrise, and what a lovely daily eruption it is. It’s just an intimate reflection of my relationship and appreciation with the magnificence and gratitude I have to wake up every morning.
