The strings on my bass echo the sound of my soul

A deep rumble in a standard tuning

They capture the rumble I feel whenever I think too much

The way it reverberates into my heart 

Like being in the front row of a concert and you can feel the speakers through your bones 

And in your lungs

Is the same way that these thoughts of you infiltrates my subconscious mind and waking brain

If only it was as easy to speak my mind as it is to pluck the strings

I sometimes play til my fingers bleed because I forget about the playing and get lost into feeling the music and the thoughts about you 

I guess I forget the physical pains and instead focus on the possible joys that the future might hold for us
