Books
Books are my crooks
They’re my favorite drug
They stole from me
The only thing I love
My childhood
Buried under pages
My life
Reading deathly wages
My fantasies become reality
When my eyes are buried deep
Words swirling
Speeding past
Just so this dream can last
At night
Instead of dreaming
I’m staying awake reading
“Just one more page,” I say
I could say that till the day
It takes me away
From living everyday
My own life
I try to hide
Behind pages
They take me places I’ve never been
I dream about when, oh when
I’ll escape
These walls of paper
That seal my fate

I've always loved reading books, but sometimes that takes moments away.
