Time - A Friendly Fiend
Time slips like oil in my fingers.
It paces and runs and flees.
I hold on to it, with bare tendrils,
It escapes me in puffs of smoke and anger.
Too fast to grasp.
Too wise to be caught,
Too old to be tamed
Too experienced to be trapped.
It's perseverance is what I rival.
It's calm is what I aspire,
It's friendship is what I dream.
It's revenge is what I dread!
Time slips like oil in my fingers.
It mocks and taunts and prods.
It spits venom in my face,
While I keep trying to win in this time bound race.
