Beijing
Beijing
I live in a big city.
My life
It's drowned in passing cars and towering buildings.
Whenever I gaze at the night sky.
I don't see the brilliant stars
Only the cloud trails of airplanes.
I would always sit on the roof of a building
Looking up at the flocks of birds flying.
From south to north,
They never seem to be trapped by the bustle.
I longed to be like a seagull,
swimming in the sunny sea without any restrictions.
Instead of being trapped in a fortress of concrete and glass.
I'm jealous of every wind that blows through me.
They take their freedom and flaunt it in front of me with impunity.
I want to snatch it away.
I reach out with both hands but I can't grab it.
It passes through me.
And drifted away with hope.
Here.
Rain becomes sword;
Snowflakes become sludge;
Even the wind becomes stupid.
I run forward desperately.
Following the direction of the wind.
But...
I am a prisoner.
I'm a prisoner in a cage of lights and luxuries.
It's getting dark.
Welcome to Beijing.
The city I never escape.

I always wanted to live in the mountains and escape the city of my birth, but I realized I couldn't stay away from the city of lights.
