Stage Lights
Fractures of color,
cold floor, low evenings,
stage lights carry memories of what was
and what will never be,
futures lost and turned to dust before they could live,
Stage colors, broken light,
it shines like shattered glass on the floor,
glitters as though through a prism,
Blocks of rainbow reflect and
rebound off the curved walls of thought,
rebound in the silence you made thinking
much too far into what no longer will be.
