After Reading
My island window is cold and dusty.
The books that I had once read,
pages being turned after the other
being opened and night and were peeked at throughout the day,
I could hear the adventure waiting.
Swords and dragons fight in my mind,
as much as unimaginable love and handsome suitors,
beautiful landscapes that are mountains high,
They fly through my mind.
Fondness towards my female heroine,
who shines in her light.
Written and edited,
It’s like a song, that can never be ended.
It lives forever in these pages.
But every adventure ends,
but these characters live on forever.
They smile at me as I close the book
and imagine what my own life would be like if I dared.
Their stories are like the colors of a sunset,
So exhilarating and fun
So filling and thrilling
I feel like I can breathe.
When the world around me becomes too unbearable,
there’s another world for me to visit
When reading came into my life,
There was no right way to describe it
There was no pressure
No expectations
After reading,
There was no going back after “Happily Ever Afters”
