“Life Lessons”
I was born the day after spring officially started
With the brightest blue eyes
The weather was finally warming up after a long winter
To welcome me into the world
I learned the world is a welcoming place
But it also can destroy you,
If you let it
I’ve always been one to put my fully trust into everything
No matter what
When I was little I trusted my arms
to carry me across the monkey bars
I give my all into the things around me
I love hard
No matter what
I’ve held baby bunnies,
That I rescued from my cats
Their innocence saved
And sent back out into the wild to finish their lives,
No telling once released
they would live
But I trusted they would be okay
I’ve heard the loud crack of lighting
Followed by the deafening thunder
To little me it was terrifying
I fear the unknown
The things that I have no control over
Things that just happen
And you don’t always know the end result
“Life is not fair”
That line has followed me from the time I was born until now
When ever I am complaining
My parents always say it
No matter what
They don’t hesitate to say it
It's a phrase I grew up with
There are times I want to argue with it
But in the end I can’t
Life is never going to be fair
But that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun
there are so many other joyful moments life brings,
One bad day does not mean a bad life
It's just a bump in the road
Like falling down on the playground
You get right back up and continue the game with your friends
The “bad moments” in life make the good ones,
Even better
For me, I look at life like learning to water ski
You know that your going to fall
But you know the end result
If something is just handed to you
You won’t appreciate it
But if you work for it you’ll cherish it forever
That’s why my parents never let me give up on water skiing
I thought there was no way I could do it
But today I couldn't imagine life without it
Never give up
Giving up will never get you anywhere
It’ll keep you thinking about the what ifs
Never give up
Life is a continuous circle filled with ups and downs
Don’t let it stop you
Even when times get hard
Remember the moments that make everything seem worth it
The little things
Are the most important to me
