the endless farmfields fly by

the windows of our booming van.

pops was our driver (bad idea),

and yiayia was navigating our westward journey.

antonis and i sat in the middle row, 

and mati sat in the back with most of the luggage.

our first stop did not excite me,

some house on a rock sounded boring.

i buried myself in my music

as we flew up hills and skid down valleys;

yiayia was screaming for dear life

as pops laughed and turned up his ESPN.

we arrived at the House safely,

and yiayia was quick to take a picture.

we began our old house tour

and (how swiftly) I became interested.

there were horse-riding skeletons 

and treasures from another, simpler time

and a massive carousel of dolls

and a full-size battle of a whale and a ship,

and old, japanese architecture

and anything and everything in between.

my favorite part, however,

was most definitely the music.

specifically, this one, red room

held an entire orchestra and funky mirrors

that antonis and i took fit pics in

and sat to gaze at this valentine-ly wonder.
