Freedom
There was a day.
Where 15 thousand people went to the Capital.
That all had one agenda.
Kill and raid
There were 2 to 3 hundred law enforcement officers.
Who had the impossible task.
Protect the Capital on this day.
There were Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Three Percenters.
Names I didn’t know.
Until there was a day.
I remember coming home from school.
On this day.
My mom was in tears.
She said the Capital was raided by protestors.
I thought she was overreacting.
Until I saw the videos of this day.
People screaming at police officers.
The only ones who were keeping everything under control on this day.
Who were outmanned and outgunned.
Now on this day, January 6th, 2020, we saw things that happened in other countries.
It’s the first time in American history without a peaceful transfer of power.
It made me wonder if America had fallen from its place on top of the world.
It made me wonder what’s going to happen in 2024?
Should we expect this every election?
I’m scared because of this day.
