The Song of Tears and Sorrow
sit there, earbuds burrowed deep in my ears.
Tapping my heel slightly to the pulsating beat.
It soothes me. It makes me forget my surroundings.
Almost. Not quite.
As the next song comes on, I hurry to hide my face.
Hide it from the people around me.
So they don't see my tears and sorrow.
Almost. Not quite. They still see.
I sit there, face buried in my arms.
Blocking my emotions from pouring over the edge.
The song, I relate to. For some silly reason. I'm not sure.
Listen to the slow rhythm, and touching words.
I replay the song.
