New Epiphanies
Put me in a box
Give me thirty seconds
I promise I won’t be reckless
And keyless, I will break all the locks
There are no boundaries
That I can’t escape
I am my very own foundry
Twisting life, which seems unchangeable into a new shape
My key is my brain
My thoughts bubbling to the surface
Each with a presence of purpose
Giving me guidance that I can’t explain
Unstoppable I may be
But not perfect
There are things even I cannot see
Moments where fate intersects
Them, still they don’t see
Blinded by a clear barrier that stops them in their tracks
Living with the knowledge that I’m not free
From the past that keeps being brought back
How can we move on
When people are still living in the past
I get your traditionalist beliefs
But I don’t get the way that you express them
Don’t go, they say
Don’t go farther than we
I’m always limited by them in some way
And now, suffocating underneath the debris
