Faces
Yesterday was Wednesday
The day when I’m judged for hours
Petite girls with little shoes
Heads taller than them all
Painstaking hours in fount of a mirror
This is where I silently try to fit in
The average- too tall to be good girl
After School
I try to hardest to please
The coach with favorites
As hard as I try I’m never one of them
If I’m being honest I don’t belong here either
As much as I would love it
The uncoordinated-people pleaser
During school
I used to be the quiet
Fade into the background girl
That was before I found my people
Used to be never missed
But now I’m someone's first choice
That doesn’t come without a price though
The talked about-try not to care girl
At home
All I have to do is live up to
Endless expectations
Seems like I never rest
I will never practice enough
Could always be cleaner
And always better
The not a clone of my dad-not quite good enough girl
