The train doors close. “Where could he be?” Something is wrong, my dad is on the other side of the glass. I burst into tears as the train accelerates; horror on his face.  The world spins. Amongst an ocean of strangers, I am but a speck. One of the faceless drifters crouches down. She asks me, softly, “are you alright?” “my dad…”, I whimper shyly. The conductor is alerted and the train creaks to a stop. I am reunited with my dad; forever grateful for this stranger, grateful for my dad’s familiar embrace.

I tried to keep this very emotional event down to around 100 words as a challenge. I was very young when this happened, (around 7) and it was very scary at the time, which I tried to portray. I hope you enjoy!
