"I love you," rolls off the tongue so easily these days.
"The moon is beautiful tonight," Soseki wrote.
I can only imagine him looking up at the cosmos,
hand in hand, bringing up two clasped hands to point at the sky above.
Three quick squeezes:
I. Love. You.
The night is quiet. We walk in peace; nobody expects us but us.
There's a hand in mine, larger, warm, encompassing.
I look up, stepping into the starlight.
Three squeezes of my hand, and then a smile-
"Hey, the moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?"
