Over- Thinker
One hug contains a million thoughts
How tight was it?
How long did it last?
Was it shorter than last time?
These thoughts cause a neurotic dysfunction to speed through my mind
Everything shuts off
Headlines circle me like they're ready to bounce
I'm a gazelle in the chaos of hungry lions
The lions grit their teeth at me, lord over me
I can feel their menacing presence as they step closer and closer
I fear for my life
But then, everything turns on again
The world starts to move
Everything as it was
And there it is again
He hugs me again
This piece is an inside look into the mind of an overthinker. It shows the stress we feel over one simple action and how for a lot of us the word pauses and we feel scared and alone.
