When We Grow Up
When you're young
You don't really need to think
The path is clear
like you could break out and sing
When you get older
I warn you, this will change
Life as you have it today
It will never be the same
Ironically enough,
You never have enough time
You keep secrets
And you hide your shine
Worrying about what others think
You never say the truth
To hide your insecurities
You'd rather lie through your teeth
As time goes on
You start to lose yourself
You forget your morals
And end up needing help
You'll look back on the good old days
Thinking how carefree you were
Wish it was the same
But you were caught in a frame
Trust me,
I want to say
That one day
It'll change
You'll get back what you lost
But that isn't the case
So start to make your new ways
pick up your ghost
and throw it away
Look towards the future
You start to think
When we grow up
It'll change things
Yes this is true
Trust me you'll get though
Everyone is going through the same thing
So pick yourself up
And start to sing
