Passion.

Everyone loves to throw around that

Word.

Passion.

People love to glorify that

Word.

Passion.

Passion!

People like to hug that word

People love

love

to make that word feel like the center of everything.

Passion.

But, in reality, passion is just what I’ve been calling it.

A word.

Word.

Passion.

It’s just a word.

And it’s a passenger.

A paid VIP on a cruise

known as the USS Neuro

It likes to hang out in the VIP lounge

with its best friend,

Motivation.

They have very similar personality types

(Oh, and in case you were wondering, Passion is a Capricorn,

and Motivation is something else irrelevant,

I can’t remember.)

They’re in the same boat.

Literally.

They’re both just

just

Just

Words.

You can’t rely on words.

Words are not enough.

A word is simply a means of communication,

a web of snowflakes,

each distinct and unique, yet many similar to one another,

some lost to time, lost in their environment,

melting away and sinking into the grassiest of grass,

boosting its effectiveness in doing its job.

But words aren’t enough.

Words,

Especially words such as your precious passion and exhilarating motivation,

are no more that Egyptian workers,

Carrying much more weight than they should be expected to.

But nonetheless

contributing to the most phenomenal of things.

Passion.

Passion is not a well.

Do you remember 8th grade integrated science?

I don’t remember who exactly said it,

but there was this theory thing, that went a lil’ sum’n like this:

“Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It can only change from one form to another.”

Passion.

Passion is a form of energy.

It must transfer.

Otherwise it’ll burn out.

Move it somewhere else.

Turn it into drive.

Drive.

Drive gets people

the best of people

places.

Passion getting in the car.

Motivation is turning the ignition.

Drive is slamming the gas.

You need all three to run, but only one can actually take you where you wanna be.

The author's comments:

Yesterday at rehearsal, the musical theater teacher talked a lot about "Passion." And it made me think more and more about the word, which lead to me writing this. Enjoy!
