Yellow
woke up this morning to clouds out my window
my mind felt yellow like it is in the summer
everything is warm like honey, flowing slow
jaune comme des tournesols, comme des fleurs
warm like the sun on your eyelids on a July afternoon
when you're lying in the grass talking to your bestfriend
like thunderstorms when you're lying in your bed in June
excited like teenage friends at the mall ready to spend
yellow like lemonade and the centers of daisies
yellow like the sun hanging low in the mid-day sky
yellow like scrambled eggs and bumbling bees
yellow like a softball whistling and flying high
yellow like blacked eyed susans in my back yard
yellow like butterscotch buttons and lemon drops
yellow like A+ assignments your teacher starred
yellow like butterflies, canaries and friendly wasps
